Anita Sego, PhD, MCHES®

Anita Sego, PhD, MCHES,® grew up in the Midwest and attended Eastern Illinois University as an undergraduate and Indiana State University for graduate school earning a Master of Science degree.
Anita chose a career in health education because of the diversity in positions and opportunities within the profession.
In her career, she worked with grants, including the Job Training Partnership Act and Community Development. She served as the director of the American Red Cross Chapter and Finney County Community Corrections.
After working in community settings for almost 25 years, Anita joined the University of Central Arkansas as an assistant professor. She taught at Eastern Illinois University for 15 years before moving to Central Arkansas.
Now, Anita teaches new CHES® and MCHES® students and professionals. In her current position, she frequently uses Area VI – Serve as a Health Education/Promotion Resource Person.
The best career advice that Anita has received
“Failure is only final if you quit.”
She recommends that budding health education specialists nurture their lives both inside and outside of the workplace to ensure that they have a healthy work-life balance.
Anita is a member of the Arkansas Chapter.
