SOPHE/CDC Digital Institute for Higher Education Academy

The Institute for Higher Education Academy (IHE Academy), designed for school health teacher preparation programs, will enhance participants’ understanding and train participants on essential tools required of teachers responsible for teaching health education and physical education in K-12 schools, with a focus on health education teacher preparation. Participants will be able to: 1. Describe the characteristics of high-quality health education curricula for pre-service teachers; 2. Integrate key CDC tools and resources within their health education curricula for pre-service teachers; and 3. Develop an action plan to strengthen their health education teacher preparation programs. IHE Academy presenters will include renowned leaders and trainers in the field of health education and school health teacher preparation.
