Using the Community Action Poverty Simulation as an Educational Tool to Change Perspectives

Using the Community Action Poverty Simulation as an Educational Tool to Change Perspectives

It’s almost impossible for those who have not experienced poverty firsthand to understand what it’s like to be poor in America or the challenges and barriers individuals and families are facing. One powerful educational tool that can be used to support understanding and rethinking the challenges that low-income individuals face is poverty simulations. The Community Action Poverty Simulation (CAPS) is an interactive poverty simulation experience designed to sensitize participants to the realities of poverty. In this webinar, we will highlight the benefits of offering poverty simulations, overview the CAPS tool, and discuss delivery of CAPS in public health settings.
