New members elected to SOPHE’s 2022-2023 Board of Trustees

Their terms begin on March 14, 2022

Washington, DC – December 21, 2021 – The Society for Public Health Education, Inc. (SOPHE) congratulates eight members elected to the SOPHE 2022-2023 Board of Trustees.

The new board members will be inducted and begin their terms of office on March 14, 2022 during the all-member business meeting (6:30-7:30 p.m. ET) in conjunction with the SOPHE 2022 Digital Conference. They will join 12 other board members, including four members elected by the House of Delegates, who in total comprise SOPHE’s governing body.

“I look forward to supporting these outstanding new board members as SOPHE moves through its transition phase with a new brand and CEO,” says SOPHE President Deborah Fortune, PhD, FAAHE. “These new voices will strengthen SOPHE’s service to its members and support health education and promotion leaders to achieve healthy and equitable communities throughout the world.”

Raffy R. Luquis, PhD, CHES®, associate professor of Health Education & Biobehavioral Health and program coordinator of the Biobehavioral Health Program at Penn State Harrisburg, will serve a three-year term as president-elect, president and immediate past president from March 2022 through spring 2025.
