May 2-8 is North American Occupational Safety and Health Week. In honor of this health observance, the Worksite Health Community of Practice (CoP) invites all SOPHE members interested in worksite health promotion and occupational safety/health to join the CoP!
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Total Worker Health® Program is an introduction to occupational safety and health.
Total Worker Health® is defined as policies, programs, and practices that integrate protection from work-related safety and health hazards with promotion of injury and illness-prevention efforts to advance worker well-being. Find more information about the program at https://www.cdc.gov/NIOSH/twh/
The CDC Workplace Health Promotion website serves as an introduction to worksite health promotion. On average, Americans working full-time spend more than one-third of their day, five days per week, at the workplace. The use of effective workplace programs and policies can reduce health risks and improve the quality of life for American workers.
