Elaine Auld, SOPHE CEO collaborated with CDC principals and former staff  on writing, “Health Education Workforce Opportunities and Challenges,” which was published in the CDC’s journal, Preventing Chronic Disease.

The article hopes to educate stakeholders in federal, state and local health departments about the contributions of health education specialists to improving the public’s health.  Health education specialists have talked about their “undervalued” role. This article attempts to elevate both their knowledge and skills to contemporary public health challenges — and the way the field needs to further improve. Read the article>
